Little Dorrit.jpg

Little Dorrit is Dickens eleventh novel, published in parts between 1855-57, and is his penultimate collaboration with the illustrator Hablot Knight Browne ('Phiz') who once again uses his 'dark plate' technique for some of the illustrations. The novel is dedicated to Dickens's friend Clarkson Stanfield who had illustrated several of Dickens's 'Christmas Books'. The illustrations below are taken from the 'Fireside Edition' of Dickens's works (1903-1907) and reproduce Browne's original illustrations.
